When you watch this documentary from 1981, you realize that David Bowie had a big influence on the youth of the 80s. Being androgynous was not hip until that time and young people were more oriented to the music than to the clothes or vice versa. With the New Romanitc scene, however, this changed profoundly and the awareness of female and male polarity was sharpened. The empathy and convergence of these two universal forces thus received special attention. We would like to see a new David Bowie for the present time, who would draw the attention of the young to this. Actually, this "Bowian" enlightenment has lasted quite a long time, but now it is time again.

Wenn man diese Dokumentation von 1981 betrachtet, wird einem klar, das David Bowie einen grossen Einfluss auf die Jugend der 80er hatte. Androgyn sein war bis zu diesem Zeitpunk nicht Hip und Jugendliche orientierten sich mehr an der Musik, als an den Kleidern oder umgekehrt. Mit der New Romanitc-Szene ändere sich das aber tiefgreifend und das Bewusstsein für weibliche und männliche Polarität wurde geschärft. Das Einfühlen und Annähern dieser zwei universalen Kräfte bekam so eine spezielle Aufmerksamkeit. Wir wünschen uns einen neuen David Bowie für die heutige Zeit, der die Jungen darauf aufmerksam macht. Eigentlich hat diese "bowische" Aufklärung ziemlich lange angehalten, aber nun ist es wieder an der Zeit.

L'Altromondo - from another world

It is 1965 and the Piper Club opens its doors in Rome. It will be the first club with experimental audiovisual expression and the precursor of the large-scale dance palace as we know it today. Pop art united with music! It was followed at the end of the 60's by the Mach 2 in Florence, the Piper Club in Turin and the L'Altro Mondo in Rimini. The latter is the only one to survive to the present day, making it one of the original clubs that called themselves "Radical Disco". Derived from "Radical Design," the movement was driven primarily by architects who were ardent advocates of the new technology and advocated the creation of new meeting spaces through light, music and performance art.

Wir schreiben das Jahr 1965. In Rom eröffnet der Piper Club seine Pforten. Er wird der erste Club mit experimentell audiovisuellem Ausdruck sein und der Vorläufer des grossräumigen Tanzpalast wie wir es heute kennen. Pop Art vereint mit Musik! Es folgten Ende der 60er Jahre das Mach 2 in Florenz, der Piper Club in Turin und das L'Altro Mondo in Rimini. Letzterer wird als einziger bis in die heutige Zeit überleben und gehört damit zum Urgestein der Clubs, die sich "Radical Disco" nannten. Abgeleitet von "Radical Design" wurde die Bewegung vor allem von Architekten vorangetrieben, welche glühende Verfechter der neuen Technologie waren und sich für Neuschaffung von Begegnungsräumen mittels Licht, Musik und Performancekunst einsetzten.

Jean Michel Jarre - A Journey into the Sound"

On October 16, 2015, the 18th studio album by Jean Michel Jarre was released. The concept album was created in cooperation of 15 artists who belong to the same scene and Jarre with the same dedication and passion. At the beginning of the album everything was open and no one knew where the journey would go with Vince Clarke, M83, Air, Massive Attack, Edgar Froese, Armin van Burren, Moby and other allies. This ARTE doc summarizes Jean Michel Jarre's journey and goes into detail about his collaborations with the artists on the new album. It is nice that at the end in the studio of Hans Zimmer in Hollywood is referred to the father "Maurice Jarre", who throughout his life saw Los Angeles as his own musical territory.

Am 16. Oktober 2015 ist das 18. Studioalbum von Jean Michel Jarre erschienen. Das Konzeptalbum entstand in Kooperation von 15 Künstlern, welche der selben Szene angehören und Jarre mit der selben Hingabe und Leidenschaft verbindet. Zu Beginn des Albums war alles offen und niemand wusste wohin die Reise mit Vince Clarke, M83, Air, Massive Attack, Edgar Froese, Armin van Burren, Moby und andere Verbündeten gehen würde. Diese ARTE-Dok fasst die Reise von Jean Michel Jarre zusammen und geht auf die Zusammenarbeit mit den Künstlern des neuen Albums ein. Schön ist, das zum Schluss im Studio von Hans Zimmer in Hollywood auf den Vater "Maurice Jarre" hingewiesen wird, der Zeit seines Lebens Los Angeles als sein eigenes musikalisches Territorium sah.
